Dan began his Northwestern Mutual career as a College Intern with the Charlotte, North Carolina Network Office in 1986 and was the company’s leading College Intern in 1987-88. Upon graduation in 1988, he became a full time Financial Representative and began building his personal practice.
His practice thrived over the next five years and he was appointed Managing Director in Columbia, South Carolina in 1993. Under his leadership the success of this District Office was critical to the overall growth of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network of Charlotte. The strong performance of the organization has given the company an even greater presence in the Carolinas.
In the fall of 2005, Dan was appointed Managing Partner for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Louisville, Kentucky. The opportunity and responsibility increased on January 1, 2006 when the Evansville, IN group merged with Louisville to create The Kentucky – Southern Indiana Group of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
While in South Carolina, Dan was a part of many philanthropic organizations including The Harvest Hope Food Bank, The Multiple Sclerosis Society, The United Way and The Cultural Council of Richland, as well as Junior Achievement and the Red Cross. Excited to be a new Louisvillian, he has already joined the board of directors for the Louisville Chapters of Junior Achievement and the Red Cross.
On a personal note, Dan and his wife, Mary, have three children: John 17, Elizabeth 15 and Caroline 11. In his off hours, he enjoys golf and beach trips with the family.
